Although in retrospect, I see this abscess now in this photo from 12/17/02, it wasn't until New Year's Eve that I realized he had an abscess.

| We tried draining the abscess first. That didn't work, so on January 6, he had the first of his surgeries to clear up the infection. This photo was taken 01/09/03.

The abscess never really got better and, on February 6, it blew out, requiring yet another surgery on 02/07/03. This photo was taken on 02/09/03.*

| Jack did better for longer this time, but on March 6, I started noticing the area felt squishy. By Monday, 3/10, the abscess area had filled up again. This time, they placed a drain so I could inject antibiotics directly to the wound. That lasted until the first time we tried it. :)
